Golden Heart takes small teams of kiwis to minister in the city of Angeles in Pampanga, Philippines. Here you will see desperation unlike anything we could imaging in New Zealand as people try to survive by any means possible.

You will witness first hand the deprivation left behind from sex tourism, women forced in to the sex industry in order to provide for their children, fatherless kids, poverty like you have never seen before, need like you will never have to experience, and a hunger for God’s love like we NEED to know ourselves!

Teams will spend a little over 2 weeks in Pampanga, Angeles City serving the community and then before returning home enjoy a 4 night holiday at a beach resort.

An approximate timetable of our trip will be provided as soon as practical. While these dates may be subject to change, they are the most ideal dates to take advantage of discount flights and accommodation availability in Angeles City.

The table below shows seasons, weather and approximate flight prices and will be used as a guide when confirming travel dates.

Expectations

You can expect to have your life changed. You can expect to be a part of a holy spirit filled team, led and prompted by the Holy Spirit. The majority of our time spent in Angeles will be led by what the father wants of us, therefore it is vital that each member spends alone time with God, and listens to and submits to the fathers will.

It will be expected of you to fully engage and work hard. There will be some free time, but team time is team time.

* Costs are approximate only and will depend on conversion rates, seasonal deals and so forth. A Deposit of $1000 will be required to confirm your place.

Other costs: Your own food, daily getting around, travel insurance, transport to and from Auckland. Another cost to keep in mind is receiving the appropriate vaccinations from your doctor.

Preparation

As a team we will raise funds specifically for outreach, buying food, clothes, paying medical expenses etc. You may receive sponsorship from friends and family to help with your personal expenses but there is an expectation that you will participate in a team effort to raise money to go directly to filling the needs we encounter on the mission.

In the time between now and the trip, our team will get together for a minimum of one weekend wānanga and other regular meetings. There times are vital to the success of the mission, not only to plan together, but to pray together and get to know each other.

I understand that by filling out this form I am applying for a place in an up and coming over seas mission trip. I understand that I am not automatically selected and if selected a non-refundable deposit of $1000 will be required. I also understand that once I pay my deposit for this trip that I am committing to go on this trip and assume full responsibility for the financial costs for me to participate, which will be roughly $1,800 (dependent on eating arrangements etc). This cost does not include personal travel insurance, vaccinations or food or any other costs associated with personal care. If at some point you decide not to go on this trip or are unable to go on this trip, Golden Heat will issue a refund or release from financial obligation if we are able to do so. Many trip costs are upfront and non-refundable or only partially refundable. You are responsible for those costs even if you do not attend the trip.
I understand that this mission trip will involve a preparation process for ministry and evangelism. I will commit myself to attending mission team meetings and fulfilling my responsibilities for team ministry preparation. I understand that by joining the Golden Heart mission team I will be representing Golden Heart and, more importantly, Jesus Christ during this trip. Therefore I am committing myself to a lifestyle that honours Christ in all aspects now and on this trip.
I hereby release Golden Heart, and its employees, officers, agents, directors and representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions and causes of action for any and all injuries, losses, liabilities and/or damages sustained, incurred or suffered by me during, as a result of, or in any way related to, the mission, including, without limitation, those relating to my leaving New Zealand and visiting foreign countries, including my stay in any foreign country and my trip to and from any foreign country. WITHOUT LIMITATION OF THE FOREGOING, THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY SPECIFICALLY RELEASES AND FOREVER DISCHARGES GOLDEN HEART, AND ALL GOLDEN HEART RELATED PARTIES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS AND CAUSES OF ACTION FOR ANY AND ALL INJURIES, LOSSES, LIABILITIES AND/OR DAMAGES SUSTAINED, INCURRED OR SUFFERED ARISING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM OR AS A RESULT OF THE NEGLIGENCE (BUT NOT GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT) OF GOLDEN HEART OR ANY RELATED PARTIES.
Without limiting the release set forth above, I acknowledge that I understand that Golden Heart makes arrangements with airlines, hotels and other independent parties to provide me with certain services connected with the mission. These parties are not agents of Golden Heaty, but are independent suppliers over whom Golden Heart has no control, and I consent to all such arrangements. Golden Heart is not responsible for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses sustained, incurred or suffered by me as a result of, arising from, or in any way related to any accident, injury or death, damage, loss or delay of baggage or other property, or delay, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointment, distress or frustration, whether physical or mental, resulting from or in any way related to (1) the act or omission of any such airline, hotel, travel agency or other independent party; (2) mechanical breakdown, government actions, weather or other factors beyond Golden Hearts control; (3) failure of Participant to obtain or receive documents, passports, visas or health certificates valid through the date of re-entry to New Zealand, when required, in which case Golden Heart may assess a cancellation charge; (4) failure of Participant to follow instructions, including, but not limited to, those regarding check-in and check-out times and baggage handling; (5) cancellation or change for any reason in the travel services offered; and (6) medical or health problems or physical disabilities, and any medical treatment or hospitalisation, or lack thereof, related thereto. Participant understands Golden Heart reserves the right to cancel or alter the Mission at any time at its sole discretion. WITHOUT LIMITATION OF THE FOREGOING, THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY SPECIFICALLY RELEASES AND FOREVER DISCHARGES GOLDEN HEART AND ALL RELATED PARTIES FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, OBLIGATIONS, CLAIMS, ACTIONS, CAUSES OF ACTION, LOSSES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES INCURRED OR SUFFERED BY THE PARTICIPANT ARISING DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY FROM OR AS A RESULT OF THE NEGLIGENCE OF ANY SUCH AIRLINES, HOTELS, TRAVEL AGENCIES OR OTHER INDEPENDENT PARTIES WITH WHICH GOLDEN HEART MAKES TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS.
I give Golden Heart and its representative(s) (including, without limitation, the Mission Leader) authority to request and authorize medical and/or hospital treatment for Participant in the event of any injury or sickness sustained by Participant while on any Mission, including, without limitation, while traveling to and from any foreign country, and, if the need arises, to administer medical treatment, life-saving techniques or other first aid pursuant to the standard medical kit carried on the Campaigns. Participant agrees to pay for all such treatment and to reimburse Golden Heart for all costs and expenses incurred by Participant with respect to such treatment. WITHOUT LIMITATION OF THE FOREGOING, THE UNDERSIGNED HEREBY SPECIFICALLY RELEASES GOLDEN HEART, AND ALL RELATED PARTIES, FROM ANY DUTY OR AND ALL GOLDEN HEART PARTIES, FROM ANY DUTY OR OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE MEDICAL SERVICE OR TREATMENT, LIFE-SAVING TECHNIQUES, FIRST AID, OR HOSPITAL TREATMENT FOR PARTICIPANT IN THE EVENT OF ANY INJURY OR SICKNESS SUSTAINED BY PARTICIPANT WHILE ON ANY MISSION, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WHILE TRAVELING TO, IN, AND FROM ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY.
I AM AWARE THAT FOREIGN TRAVEL, INCLUDING TRAVEL TO AND FROM ANY MISSION SITE LOCATION, HAS INHERENT DANGERS THAT POSE A RISK OF HARM OR INJURY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DISEASE, LACK OF PROPER HEALTHCARE, CRIME, CIVIL UNREST, LACK OF PROPER HEALTH STANDARDS, AND LACK OF AIRPORT SECURITY. I AM AWARE THAT I MAY SUFFER BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THE CAMPAIGNS. HOWEVER, I VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE TO ASSUME THESE RISKS AND PARTICIPATE IN THE MISSION. I HAVE FULL KNOWLEDGE OF THIS DOCUMENT’S LEGAL SIGNIFICANCE. I HAVE FULLY READ THE ABOVE AND UNDERSTAND IT AND HEREBY CONSENT TO IT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY IT.
