My name is Eileen. I live in Rotorua and have two wonderful adult children who also live in Rotorua. I’m especially blessed having a 9 year old granddaughter close by. I live on my own with my 19 year old cat called Sam. He is very bossy!!
I am a primary school teacher with 42 years’ experience. Presently I am a relief school teacher but usually work every day as I enjoy being with children, helping them grow emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
I love outdoor activities such as biking, walking anywhere and gardening. I love meeting people and sharing God’s love with them, just a simple, genuine word spoken at the right time is good enough for me. I also enjoy indoor activities like baking, reading, going to the movies. Teaching doesn’t give me a lot of spare time to have personal interests. I love to sing and worship God, attend church and create friendships with other likeminded people.
I have done mission work in Borneo, volunteering in an orphanage which was an amazing experience. I taught English in the school and generally helped out around the orphanage. I found the children to be very beautiful people, very respectful, loving, kind and full of fun. I also have been to Cambodia where, with a group of other ladies we worked with an organization that helped rescue girls from brothels and get them established in jobs, receive counseling and make sure that they had safe accommodation. It was a mind blowing experience. I learnt a lot about myself and my attitude toward girls who were caught up in this lifestyle not by their own choice.
I am looking forward to being a part of the Golden Heart Mission 2023. I don’t know how God will use me but I love working as part of a team. I am available to be used of Him.
